The Gaming Pub is Born

Since a long time ago I've been a fan of a good newsletter, one of my all-time favorites is the https://www.hackernewsletter.com/ by @kale. I'm always eager to open my email on a Friday and see what interesting content I'll receive on my inbox.

My main hobby since I was a kid is playing games and I've always consumed gaming magazines, however, they pretty much died where I live and are not a viable gaming content source anymore. Nowadays with a lot of news and content being made for the internet and with a bunch of different sources, it's pretty hard to consume good gaming content.

I looked for a gaming newsletter that could satisfy this need and could not find any. With this in mind, I've decided to start a gaming content newsletter. The idea is to send an email once a week with the curated news, reviews, and articles from the gaming world.

The newsletter has been running for two weeks now and I've sent two issues. You can take a look at them here:

Issue #1 - https://mailchi.mp/db655ae2847a/the-gaming-pub-newsletter-001

Issue #2 - https://mailchi.mp/ad91a2d1408d/the-gaming-pub-newsletter-002

If you liked those and are interested in receiving something similar on your inbox, you can subscribe to the newsletter on the https://thegamingpub.com/

PS: If you have feedback about anything, I would love to hear it. Thanks!

I love gaming but have been disconnected because of heavy workloads for a few years now. I would love to keep up to date with that world so I was definitely interested when I saw your post.

However, when I opened the issues I found that my eyes glazed over. There's so much content, it would take too much time for me to sort through. Every email that I've subscribed to like this I have unsubscribed from.

Have you thought about giving just a few of the best stories with links to other articles from a central website? I'm not saying that what you have is a bad structure, you may be meeting someone else's needs perfectly. All I am saying is that as it is right now I would not subscribe, but I want to be able to.

      Hey Bennett,

Thanks for your input. I understand that there is a lot of content in the newsletter. However, the gaming industry is the largest entertainment industry in the world today and a lot of stuff happens in different contexts.

The aim of the newsletter it's not to open and read every single link, the idea is exactly to glance over and select the ones that you are most interested in. It would be almost impossible to select just a few links as the most important ones. For someone, it might be the trailer that just released today for Death Stranding, while to someone else who it's not into big AAA games is the release of this little indie game. I try to mix a little bit of everything that's happening.

I don't know if it makes sense, but I would consider that I'm doing the heavy load of filtering stuff from thousands of links from different sources and the reader just needs to do that little step of selecting those that make more sense to him.

However, your input is a valid one and will make me think about any improvements that can be made.

      Thanks!

That's a good and strong vision! I'll keep my eyes open for more updates! :-)
