The book to understand how agile and remote fit together.
I have worked for a lot of companies - most of them with some remote grains. This book will reflect my experience and thoughts on how to get the most out of remote teams working in agile environments.
I managed to rewrite two chapter of the book and make comprehensive summaries from them. The first one deals with what organisations need to think about when forced into remote work due to quarantine (like happening at the moment). The second one deals with the specific rules that can help your team succeed in an all remote work mode. I hope they can help some organisations to cope with the actual situation better!
Today I finished the preparation and also my rough planning. The product launch will be on June 1st 2020. So roughly 3 month left for editing. To support this goal I launched my pre launch sale on Gumroad. So my supporters can buy the book now for 40% off / $15. If you are interested secure your copy and look at: https://gum.co/tnGuv or https://remoteagility.com!
After some mind-boggling time on the command line, I managed to get the generation process up and running. Now I can simply use markdown to write the book chapters and let the stuff generate with pandoc/kindlegen to get epub and mobi files. Much easier to preview and check how the layout works in e-reader formats.
Also I updated the website https://remoteagility.com with a newsletter signup option and share buttons for Facebook/Twitter.
Now it's just me and the content ;-)
So long - Kai
Much faster than I thought the landing page for the book remoteagility.com is finished in a first official and launch-ready state. In addition to this I wrote the first (of hopefully many) posts on Twitter and LinkedIn to let my folks know what I'm up to. So overall I am super happy :-)
I am lingering around with this book idea for some time now (actually the initial ideas date two years back).
But today marks the starting point to get it done. And bring The Remote Agility Book to life and to the world. The setup of my Indie Hackers Profile marks the starting point.
Now - off into the venture...!
Best Kai
