October 26, 2021 Tiiny Host reaches $2,000 MRR

Tiiny.Host

Considering we barely had any traffic for the first 12 months, I honestly didn't expect it to reach this far.

It amazes me that over 230 people out there like the product enough to pay for it. I'm extremely grateful to each and every one of them.

But I've begun to realise why they do, more on this later.

Here are some facts for you:

💼 Part-time
💰 MRR: $2.2k
🔗 Subscriptions: 235
⬆️ Sites uploaded to date: 40,000+
👥 Average monthly visitors: 13,000+
🌍 Top countries: India, USA & Vietnam (last 30 days)
⏲️ Average session duration: ~5 mins

April 7, 2021 Tiiny Host reaches $10,000 ARR

Tiiny Host continues to grow to $10K ARR after recently hitting $500 MRR 🎉

The SEO marketing channel still proves to be the most successful and something we are planning to double down on.

We've also introduced a new subscription plan allowing users to easily edit their code online.

February 15, 2021 Tiiny Host reaches $500 MRR

The past 14 months have been a roller coaster but tiiny.host has finally hit the $500 MRR milestone.

Interestingly, the most growth has happened in the past 4 months due to SEO work implemented over 9 months ago.

You can read more about it here:

Onwards to making more mistakes, more lessons and the $1k MRR mark!

October 12, 2020 Launched Tiiny Host 2.0 on Product Hunt

Excited to post Tiiny Host back on Product Hunt:

https://www.producthunt.com/posts/tiiny-host-2-0

New for 2.0: Simple custom subdomain hosting

We found that agencies loved tiiny for prototyping and demoing web projects to clients. However, they preferred to share their own urls to clients for branding purposes. You now can with tiiny 2.0 :)

Easily host your other web projects on your own branded subdomain. You can keep your current main domain (e.g. www.myagency.com) and by just adding a single CNAME record launch projects on your subdomains in seconds.

September 3, 2020 Launched Limited Lifetime Deal

I've been exploring different sales & pricing strategies recently and love the lifetime deal trend.

I think many of us are fed up of being sold subscriptions and often just want to pay a one-off price - cue Lifetime Deal.

Starting today you can host your website with tiiny.host for just $59 (100 available)

July 20, 2020 #3 on Product Hunt - Launched Freelancer Resource

I've been working on a resource to help freelancers & agencies get more clients, especially in these turbulent times. 😷

Whilst browsing the web I couldn't find a thorough resource with ideas and actionable tips, only blog posts. You may have heard a few of these before but I think putting them into a handy resource helps you brainstorm new avenues for business.

Let me know what you guys think! 💬 Have you tried any of these? Any more you think I should add? Looking to continually update this.

June 9, 2020 10 Paying Subscribers

tiiny.host Just hit 10 paying subscribers! And the last two subscribed after I increased pricing by 30%.

It's not a lot but I'm a huge believer in this:

If you can find 1
you can find 10
If you can find 10
You can find 100
If you can find 100
You can find 1000

(Credit: @sabba)

And that goes for all of you guys out there, if you can find 1 you can definitely find many more. The internet is a HUGE market. I don't think people realise that.

Whilst the journey to 100 then 1000 etc will be slightly different, I think its important to celebrate that this validates that there is a market out there for the product. Regardless of competition.

The weirdest thing so far has been the conversion pattern. For the past two weeks I've got two new subscribers every two weeks 🤷‍♂️.

The other really important realisation is that growth just takes time, no matter how hard you push you have to be patient.

I really like this chart from:

Need any help? AMA

Whilst I don't claim to have achieved a huge milestone numerically, I've learnt a lot of things to get here - it's fresh in my head. If you're just getting of the ground and need some help - AMA!

Previous post: How we got our first paying users

Finally, thanks to everyone here who have supported tiiny.host to date. Really appreciate it 🙏.

May 18, 2020 Over 5,000 Websites Hosted

Celebrating over 5,000 websites hosted on tiiny.host now! That's doubled in just over a month.

Here's the trajectory so far:

  • Aug '19 - Launched
  • Nov '19 - Over 200 sites hosted
... didn't keep track but probably should have...
  • Apr '20 - Over 2,500 sites hosted
  • May '20 - Over 5,000 sites hosted

Definitely seeing some kind of compounding effect taking place here. 99% of these have been sites uploaded via the free plan.

New Goal: Increase Pro subscribers

Biggest struggle: Increasing traffic to tiiny.host

We've also recently updated the messaging on the landing page to reflect our most popular use cases.

Onward to 10,000 🚀

April 6, 2020 Over 2,500 Websites Hosted

It's amazing to see how far tiiny.host has come in the last few weeks since I've been spending all of my time on growth marketing rather than development.

The basic things really do work. Content marketing, SEO optimization and community engagement has been great so far.

There's definitely a lot of more room for growth! Looking forward to 10,000 milestone.

EDIT: I documented our journey to here in this post: https://tiiny.host/blog/first-paying-users/

March 30, 2020 We Got Our First Paying Users!

Our Product Hunt launch was great! We got 1500+ visitors in one day and our first paying user! They used our Product Hunt promocode and subscribed to our Lite Annual plan. The next day, we got another paying user! They did not use any promocode so it was our first FULL paying user.

If you're interested in learning how we got here, I've written a short post about it here:

https://tiiny.host/blog/first-paying-users/

For all you guys still waiting on your first customer - hang in there! It took us six months (part-time) but we got there :)
