It's been awhile since there has been an update. During that time we got our first review that was 2 stars. 😔 It was very clear that we needed to add in edit and delete functionality. On June 3rd the functionality and testing was finally completed. That same day we got another review that was 3 stars asking for the same functionality so instead of going through alpha testing we just pushed the app.
fast forward The 3 star user updated their review to 5 stars which was a great feeling. We are also live on at least 100 devices now so things are getting exciting.

During the past few weeks I went from big "must do" items to small patches/minor releases. To make sure there is enough time test as bigger changes are happening I've decided to do 1 week betas.

The patch sent out was to change the way dates are handled in the app so that December stopped showing up at the top of list. What's in beta is adding a notes section to the app.

The biggest issue I'm seeing at the moment is the churn rate for the app. I need to figure out why people are uninstalling so much. That being said I think it's time to use the Android review API for some help.

Started moving my items over from my physical trade journal and I really like this! I noticed some small issues and immediately went to work on fixing them allowing for this patch to basically come out same day.

Looking down the line I think the copy over all will be changed and then I want to add some features to be competitive with other apps such as the delete functionality and notes in the immediate future.

There will be some experimentation with the copy and for now it's only for the US (not sure if that's a mistake yet). All in all this has been a cool project to get into.

Finally submitted the app to the google play store. It's only available for the US at the moment. I cut back on some features because I needed to get the app out the door. As there are more updates and proof of stability I will make it open to anyone.

I'm still not sure what a paid version would look like. I'm thinking that it would be worth it to pay for importing .csv and the ability to have a watch list.

I made designs and started setting up the code. The idea is to keep it simple yet effective. I got an offer for the app already. I don't want to even think about selling it without numbers. There are two options I'm considering long term: paid subscription for some services and custom templates.

I bought this trade journal and it was pretty confusing. I could have just continued to use excel, but what if I can make a simple digital app for other newbies. There is no way to track how much money one puts in so I want to make that one of the key features, what you put in vs how much you get in return.
