I showed the site to another person (who has previously given push back on lakebed.io, so I know she doesn't mince words). She said the site looks great. "When I had my near-fatal crash I wished for a coach or mentor; someone who's been through this and can guide me." explained the concept really well, and she immediately understood the value proposition. She offered to introduce me to counsellors she knows, which implies she sees value and is willing to put her reputation on the line.
A trauma-physio, a death doula, and a person recovering from trauma have all said it's a good idea and the site looks good. No one has said $50/month is too much so that's a good sign too.
Now to do some marketing without being an "ambulance chaser".
When my crash happened I wished I had someone who had been through trauma & recovery before; it was all new to me. As I slowly recovered I wanted to write about my own recovery to help others who may have to go through it. I had trouble getting motivated and organizing my thoughts for writing. More recently, I've been looking at replika.ai, a personal chatbot. It occurred to me, that a personal, private chat might be the way to support those recovering from trauma.
