The team changed. The product changed. The opportunities increased. We pivoted from the travel planning tool to an intelligent solution where we can guarantee our customers to get the best off-market hotel deals on the whole market. We got the first hotel partners and now its all about scaling and growing fast.
We just hit over 50 signups in May and see that people want to travel again. Our main channels are Instagram, Pinterest Word of mouth and SEO to get traffic. Our most valuable thing we have is the high amount of word of mouth recommendations which bring us new high quality users!
On the 23rd of October 2020 we finally launched the beta version to broader mass of people. We were hustling for that day and then it came. In the first 3 days we had ~ 600 visits and more than 450 travel boards where created.
We created a Slack Group for Testers and got valuable Feedback from them. This Feedback is the base for the future development of travelwell.io 🚀

After many iterations and plenty of user interviews we got a better understanding about what customers want. Of course there where many hypothesis and questions we had. Some of them seemed to be right, some of them seemed to be wrong. For example that many people are planning a vacation with friends in WhatsApp (or Facebook) Groups seemed to be right. another one which seemed to be right was that the planing process always is a pain because of the lack of structure. Out of that assumptions and our plan we finished our MVP and tested several features with a small group of 10 people who gave as valuable feedback one our idea!
In February 2020 Quentin and I both attended the Unicon Conference in Berlin. Many motivated people interested in starting their own business met there to talk about technology, business models and product management. We did not know each other before that. It was at this conference that the idea of travelwell was born. We had to accept many setbacks. We started as a sustainable travel agency and ended up as a planning tool for travels for groups.
The last months have been a process, we have tested many ideas and had many instructive insights. Here is our story of how we ended up with the travel planning tool:

The old business model had proven to be insufficient. At this dining table in the Berlin Co-Working Space Unicorn Workspaces , we came up with the first idea for the travelwell.io planning tool.🗺
I believe that travelers should always get the best deals but right now the monopole market of travel booking doesn't allow that. Our mission is to give customers the best prices available on the market.
