March 1, 2018 Got our very own office space

After growing the team to beyond 10 employees, we realized we were getting to a stage where we were growing out of our coworking space (we had a closed office, but it was the biggest one in the space and wouldn't hold us any longer). So I poked around for a commercial REALTOR, who helped us find our beautiful digs only a few blocks from my downtown condo.

We renovated it from December to March and moved the team in!

December 1, 2016 Moved into our first Coworking space

Prior to this, believe it or not, the three of us worked out of my home office and dining room! I realized we needed to move to a separate space when one of the employees showed up early one morning while my husband and I were still having breakfast.

We researched and found the right space for us to grow into and moved in December 1 (stayed until March 2018).

November 1, 2016 Hired first non-founder employee

After 10 months of working solo on projects, I had to make a decision: either I turned down the new business coming my way or I hire someone to help me carry the load.

At first, I posted for a temporary admin assistant with social media skills (part-time), but I ended up hiring two people (one FT, one PT) that could help on the social and admin side.

Only one of them worked out (the FT one), but she stayed for about 2 years and grew with the company (she left to grow her career at a bigger firm). So much for temporary!

January 4, 2016 Started with the first customer

You know...I wasn't actually looking to start ANOTHER company. For the longest time, I called it my "accidental agency," but after posting a video resume and kicking off my YouTube series, I started getting a whole bunch of interested clients (and ftr, I didn't just talk about marketing, I have 21 years experience now and I had 16 years while making the YouTube series - so not just a talker).

It was actually my first customer, PWL Capital, who convinced me to incorporate and make it official.
