Not long after launching the TweetSponsor MVP at the end of September I realized that the 'Product - Founder Fit' wasn't really there. I liked the idea - and I think it has great potential - but I didn't have the motivation to build the full platform and to market it.
So I decided to see if I could sell it. I put up a couple of listings with no expectations just as an experiment. There were 3/4 inquiries over a couple of weeks, and I eventually accepted a deal with the most promising of them.
The amount was fairly small ($500) and probably not worth the time for most people. Some might say I could've sold it for more, but for me that wasn't really the point.
Instead of killing the project and letting it rot, I've had a tiny 'exit'. I've learned about listing projects for sale, handling questions and inquiries, handing over, and ultimately selling a (tiny) business.
As a bonus I have an extra $500 to put towards other projects!
