Open-source conversational apps builder
Existing form builders are too much of a playground. I wanted to offer a form builder that is designed to make high-converting forms and help users get as many results as possible.
Typebot is slowly getting traction. I just received the appreciated Stripe notification for 4 days in a row. It is mostly due to a change in the pricing plans. I removed some features from the Free plan in order to make users more enticed to upgrade.
After writing a well-received blog post on Typebot's lifetime deal campaign, Romaine Piper reached out to me by email saying he could help market Typebot more efficiently.
I decided to jump on a call with him and now we're working together on Typebot's marketing strategy.
Typebot went from 1 to 767 paying users with no marketing effort thanks to a lifetime deal campaign.
Here are the results after 3 weeks:
๐ 767 sales ($23,605). We gradually increased the deal price from $25 to $39.
๐ Waving hand 900+ new users
๐ช Door 2,4% refund rate
With 6 subscribers, Typebot made it to $100 MRR. Of course, it's still not even ramen profitable but there's a first for everything. I'm looking forward to talking to them and make sure Typebot gives them greater results than alternatives.
Let's keep grinding ๐ฅ

It didn't perform as I expected, honestly. It was the 5th or 6th product of the day. This is the kind of "no-code" product that's supposed to generate a lot of hype. But I think the tagline is weak: "A no-code conversation builder". I should've come up with something more controversial.
Here are the metrics at the end of the day (20/09):
This is probably a vanity metric to keep track of if you have a freemium product because a lot of users are just signing up to test the tool once and then never come back. I try to talk to them by email though but I don't receive much answers honestly ๐
I got my first paying customer. The Stripe email notification felt amazing, haha. I didn't even talk to the user, he fell in love with the product and got the premium subscription right away. And its first typebot performed very well. He had to collect feedback for his working paper about e-sport. He shared it on a Facebook group and collected ~800 chats overnight ๐
I took ~1 month to build a simple MVP. I planned on talking about the project on LinkedIn to my French audience, and the feedbacks were quite good (maybe because I offered premium subscriptions too). So I continued building the product (maybe I focused too much on the product)
I was looking for a Typeform alternative that could output a conversational form. So I searched about chatbot builders but I found them hard to use. They are mostly presented as "blueprint design". So I wanted to make a WYSIWYG builder where you click on things you want to modify. Meet Typebot ๐
