Typing Hero

There are multiple releases in May, but all of them are to introduce internal changes in the app.

All of the changes are a result of trying to improve the code base that will help me move faster in the future.

On the MRR front, the MRR dropped to $562.

In April, there is no new major feature.

As usual, I had a chat with a user his need to remove diacritics from text in the text field. As this can be done and fit very well in the Macro feature set, I introduce this functionality in one of the releases in April.

On the MRR front, the MRR climbed to $760.

In March, a new feature, Form, is released to Premium users.

Form allows users to show a dialog form that ask for input prior to expanding the keyword. This is useful for template message that has multiple variables.

In February, a new feature set, Macro, is released to Premium users.

Macros allow users to perform certain actions by typing a keyword. Some actions are selecting, or copying, or deleting text, or moving cursor position in the text field.

On the MRR front, the MRR dropped to $736. This is expected, since one time purchase was the main contributor to last month's MRR.

In January 2021, I released an update to Typing Hero that limits certain functionality in free version.

For new installation, users will only be able to add 10 Snippets. For existing installation, users can only use 10 recently added Snippets.

As a result, I saw the highest MRR spike in Typing Hero's lifetime, a sweet $1977. A large part of the spike is contributed by Lifetime License purchase, one-time, non-recurring purchase. So, I expect to see the revenue drop next month.

Typing Hero now helps 27K monthly active users, expanding text 14M+ time each month.

It now has 103 active subscribers, still generating a very humble revenue at around over $150 per month.

Just recently, One Time Payment is provided at the price of 3 times annual subscription, due to the popular requests. It has buyer soon after its release!

It's been a while!

Typing Hero now helps 20K+ monthly active users expanding text 12M+ times each month!

As for the subscription, it currently has 67 active subscriptions, generating a very humble amount of revenue at around $100 per month.

Another new Premium feature is now available: Cursor Placement. It allows you to place the cursor at certain position after replacing your keyword. You can read more on how to use the feature at https://typinghero.app/2020/07/cursor-placement/

July ended with 8.9M+ monthly text expansion. Year to date, the number of total text expansion almost doubled the number of total text expansion in 2019.

June starts with shipping Date & Time Transformer feature.

It is designed to help entering text related to current date and time by providing various building blocks that you can combine as you wish.

In the future, it will also support relative time, such as X days ago, or Y hours later.

2020 starts with 4M+ monthly text expansions.

5 months in, especially after the devastating Covid-19 tragedy, the number of users and the text expansion usage are growing significantly, 7.5M+ monthly text expansion.

Also, last March, the second Premium feature is launched, called Snippet Copier. It allows user to quickly show Typing Hero and find the snippet, when using apps incompatible with Typing Hero.
