Today we launched version 2 of the product.
Here’s what’s new:
The automated newsletters will be powered by a new service we are soft-launching called Mailbrew (formerly known as Unreadit Pro). It will allow you to create newsletters like the Unreadit ones, but with the content you choose from Reddit, RSS, YouTube, Twitter and more services to come.
While we're making progress on Unreadit Pro, we often check our early access list to see how many people signed up to use the beta when we launch, and I've been surprised to see this big number.
We're a few weeks aways from an MVP, excited to share this with some users. The MVP will allow to create newsletter with subreddits and RSS Feeds as sources, and add some basic level of customization too. We're always using it ourselves and I love having these simple digests of my favorite sources on different topics.
I hope we'll cross the 1k early access subscribers mark before finishing work on the main features.
We closed a couple of big sponsorship deals in the past weeks and here we are with $1170 in sold sponsorships across our newsletter network 🙌
A big part of achieving this was starting to do direct sales instead of relying on a self-checkout page. Sales require human interaction, we feel dumb for not realizing this earlier, but hey we are just starting to get our head around this whole sales thing.
After gaining 2000 subscribers on launch day, the growth slowed down considerably, but we just kept going and made each newsletter better. They kept growing slowly by word of mouth and today we finally passed the 5k mark across all the newsletters in our network.
With each new subscriber it becomes easier to sell sponsorships and we also gain potential customers for Unreadit Pro (unread.it/pro).
We love Reddit, yet we always feel like we miss great content, especially from niche subreddits. With Unreadit we surface the best content in curated weekly newsletters.
