Launched on product hunt

After a rejection yesterday, my submission just got accepted to launch my first web app we.fo to product hunt. It's a tool built to give any podcast host a beautiful website to share with listeners so that they can choose where to listen to the podcast themselves.

It features podcast branding and description, auto-redirection to native podcast apps on mobile, a big list of podcast apps to choose from when on the landing page, latest episode player, and a short, readable link.

It's very obvious you were inspired by Plink (plinkhq.com), here. That's awesome, yet please consider reworking the nearly-identical design on Wefo's marketing site, product page params (?to=page) on landing pages, and focus on creating your own unique take on a smart linking service.

plinkhq.com data from WHOIS registry creation date of 2019-03-21T19:58:18Z. we.fo data from WHOIS creation date of 2019-08-11T08:17:41.0Z. I invite you to take some time to read over Plink's (© Mathson Design, LLC) Terms & Conditions, alongside accompanying copyright and IP laws.

All we ever want is friendly competition, see Plink's relationship to @nathang's Podlink, Podnews, @dzohrob's Chartable, @wavve's Wavve, and others.

Congrats @luxio! Any reason why it got rejected and how did you manage to resubmit again?

    1. 3

There was no statement on the rejection, but the initial version had "We.fo - tagline" as the name, and the resubmitted version removed the tagline. I imagine the product hunt admins want the launches to look similar, so they edited it, and scheduled it for release the next day.

I love the idea behind this. What are the future plans for we.fo?

Adding features to the website while sticking to the mission of having one super-easy sharable link for any podcast, there should be absolutely no friction between the listener and their favorite show.

Nice work. Keep it up! I'm excited to see what you do with this.

Just found this and upvoted on PH. Looks like a nice simple solution for podcasters and perfect for podcast addicts like myself who hate having to go and manually look up a podcast in my app of choice.

Thanks! While originally intended for sharing podcasts, it's awesome if you find it useful for your self as well, appreciate the up-vote!🙏🙏🥳

Goodluck @luxio ! I've upvoted you! Product looks great! Very useful, something i would definitely use and looks so professional too. I'm excited to release https://trackmylift.app on product hunt at the end of August!

Appreciate the support! Since you're already working on a lifting app, can I suggest auto-generated-programs for when I just want to hit the gym for a certain time (e.g. 1h15m) but still want to do it in a structured manner? This is something I'm actively looking for hahah

      1. 2

hahaahh what are the chances of that? That's insane.

Post-go live i have plans to implement set routines / workouts and build up workouts based on a few bits of criteria so I think this matches what you're saying.

This could maybe be for you then :-) I'm just so buzzing to release soon!

Looking forward to your release, skipping leg-day is easier if I can generate an alternative plan on the fly! :D

          1. 4

Haha never skip leg day! :) But yes hopefully you get a look at it and give it a try post-release!

Nice and simple. Nice job, man! Upvoted there.
Edit: u may wanna add the PH link in ur post so everyone can check it there (and vote it up).

Thanks! Appreciate the support, means a lot:)

This will indeed help a lot of independent podcast bloggers, sometimes they just need to post their programs anywhere, all the time testing new platforms, services and sites, so promoting can get all messy

Really nice idea, congratulations on launch!
You might want to add a list of recently added podcasts? This will give visitors more information about how your product looks like and will encourage more page views ;)

Thanks for the tip, will definitely look at implementing this)

I was reading somewhere that you're a 17 year old developer, quite impressive. Is this one of your first products to go to market? Wishing you success either way, stay ambitious.

Lol must've been on reddit. This is indeed one of my first, and I am super excited to launch it, I think it provides real value.
