It's Webwide's first birthday! Despite the software license and domain renewals, a reason to celebrate. 🥳

These changes and our first birthday mark a renewed push for the platform to welcome more to our already lovely core community and welcome back some of our previously active friends.
Development priorities will continue to be community-led and even more so now with the introduction of suggestion voting in our suggestions forum.
Webwide users earn credits for normal activity around the site and have funded our first round of 25 tree plantings. Aiming for 200 at the moment!
Funding tree plantings via Offset Earth. Offset Earth fund Eden Reforestation Projects, particularly in Madagascar where the project creates jobs for local people planting and protecting forests in an attempt to recover from their extreme (over 90% of their rainforests) deforestation.
The Mangrove trees being planted capture up to four times as much carbon per acre than tropical rainforests. Three quarters of tropical fish rely on their root systems for nurseries and shelter.
Planting trees captures CO2 from the atmosphere and is thought to be the most effective defence against global warming.

Today I released the refreshed design including multiple colour schemes for the Webwide forum.
I hope this change will help to increase engagement through better onboarding and a more focused reading experience for more involved members.
