Hit $500 MRR for Weekend Club :D

Weekend Club hit the $500 MRR benchmark yesterday, after reaching 16 subscribers. You can check us out here: weekendclub.co

As a reminder - we provide Saturday co-working sessions and a private Slack to learn how to make profitable internet businesses from a wider community.

The day starts with a stand-up, followed by lunch, then a demo at the end of the day, running 10am-6pm.

I feel comfortable that the format has been well validated, based on paying customers and generally very positive feedback. Plus, a similar format is opening soon in Amsterdam, based on our success so far.

My first 16 customers were very much from the 'do things that don't scale' approach, manually recruiting from my friends/network. The IndieBeers.co meetup and newsletter I run certainly helped too.

Next steps:

  • reach 20 paying customers
  • expand Weekend Club to more dates (currently it's just twice per month in a single location)

Would you want one of these locally? Let me know in the comments if so.

Congrats man. I always hear great things. Really good to see you turn the needle on this.

I think more dates is a good next step. As well as thinking what else can you offer the community. I'm guessing you've got a Weekend Club Slack?

Cheers boss. Yup there's a pretty active Slack already - for sharing work, keeping in touch, updating on progress etc.

My focus is on improving the core experience and expanding available dates/locations this year. Some other interesting opportunities long-term though... main thinking is around productised services for makers, funding, or potentially exclusive, members-only content.

Would be great to have you down someday!

Congrats man. Be nice to have a chat at some point about what you've learnt running a Slack group ...

And yep, that kind of accountability works for me. I intend to sign up ..
Just stuff keeps getting in the way. And my younger brothers living with me for a bit. So I happen to be working with him on weekends atm ...

    Congrats on the important milestone.

You should link your site here, I did some quick googling of weekend club but couldn't find your site.

Thanks man. I need to work on the SEO... weekendclub.co

Really cool idea. Are you getting discounted/free work days at the coworking space?

Also looks like the Weekend Club site is down.

Thanks. The co-working space provides it for free, in return for us helping to market it.

From their POV, it's open on Saturdays anyway and pretty much empty, so it's free marketing for them.

Thanks for the heads up on the site. Weird, it works fine for me, even after I refresh cache.

We have an active Slack, if that’s what you mean. However making a public website specific for this would basically just be Indie Hackers imo.
