I was at WordCamp US 2019, learning a TON about web accessibility, making furious notes, and thinking about how to incorporate accessibility into my WordPress development workflow. I have a list of things I try to check things off of whenever I launch a website or if a client asks me to do an audit.
So I started adding the accessibility items I was learning about on there. Then I thought, why not make this a public, super helpful, checklist everyone can use? And that's how the idea was born.
