I wanted to get back into the startup scene, insofar as I'm doing more writing and consulting in 2018 than actual developing :(.
So I do three things: consult, write, develop. The consulting and writing are probably more interesting here. I focus on helping self-funded startup founders who get stuck, and need a second opinion about what 8-10 specific things they can do to improve their site, their product and their sales.
Re writing - have written 6 books, the last published was The Web Startup Success Guide (http://www.amazon.com/Web-Startup-Success-Guide/dp/1430219858), which although it's a decade old, still sells.
Writing now #7, a book about adopting and mastering Microsoft's Visual Studio Code on just the Mac, doing development primarily in open source languages/frameworks. Never thought I'd be writing a book about anything Microsoft. But then, never thought MSFT would do an open source, free, awesome code editor either.
