I was raised by French speaking parents in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, and had an Irish grandmother.
Thus, since a very early age I learned to think and speak in 3 different languages and cultures. Still serves me well in life.
At the age of 17, by serendipity, I picked up the book ‘Hidden Persuaders‘ by Vance Packard (originally published in 1957) and it got me hooked on consumer behavior and how to influence it.
That book was the start of a lifelong fascination with marketing, the principles of influence, advertising, marketing and effective communication.
