tl;dr; - I made my first online dollar this week. Yeaaah! Thank YOU IH. You rock.
@csallen (and team) Thank You! You've built a great community here and I'm very grateful to be a part of it.
Some of you may have participated in recent threads where I offered to give feedback on your website copy. I felt I had the skills to do this because to my decades of coding + writing experience.
After seeing the overwhelming response from the IH community, I put together a website offering my services for a fee. A fellow Indie Hacker - who will remain unnamed for obvious reasons - must've liked what they saw because they were willing to pay for my service.
I can't tell you how much this means to me. Late last year, I quit a 6 figure job and left a cushy life in the States to relocate to India (home!) to work for myself. I didn't really have a game plan except this vague notion that life was too short to worry about office politics and work visas. My family was outwardly supportive but they must've wondered what I was doing all day dicking around on the internet :).
Anyway, it is a LOOOONG way back to six figures from here but today, I am a few dollars closer :).
Nice work! I wonder if you'd thought of 'productising' this service?
User uploads their copy and a link, pay for the length and turnaround.
You ping back suggestions.
It all queues up nicely in a database of airtable/google sheets & trello via zapier
I spoke to a fellow maker and offered to build this for her and show how to set it up on a video tutorial at newco.app - perhaps that's todays video. Thoughts?
That would be awesome! I'm already actively recruiting more writers and designers so if something like this exists, it could be HUGE.
is this useful?

While I appreciate your super speedy turnaround, I couldn't quite figure out how your video related to your above comment. It's probably because I am not familiar with Revue and Carrd.
How does your video relate to this? Is it the part where they enter their email address? Are you saying that on this email capture screen, there would be more options to say enter link, turnaround expectations, and payment proof?
I'm guessing your video doesn't cover this at all because you expect that I will have the email infrastructure in place to respond to inbound requests.
Is this covered in the part where you showed the Revue page with a new subscriber (you)? How will this work for in my use case? Where will Revue place link, duration, and payment proof?
Also, I didn't understand how Revue knew so much about a new subscriber. For example, it had a custom profile for you, not a placeholder. Is it because you had a Revue profile with the same email address? This won't always be the case, right?
SO SORRY!!! I put the wrong bloody video link on the page! Updated haha
So this new video shows a simple form, payment, gets auto-sent to your email address.
If you wanted to queue up to a database you can use Carrd to directly use Zapier and connect with Airtable/Google Sheets
I went for the quickest and easiest solution
I get it now.
Hmmmmmmmmmm, productising 2ndlook looks very very very feasible now.
I don't use Carrd so it'll have to be with my website tooling.
I can probably figure out how to email more than one person when a request comes in so that they can respond individually.
I have a stripe account so I can receive payments but I don't know how to distribute it out to the reviewers (TBD)
For now, I can make it so that only I give feedback. Let me play around with this idea this weekend.
Carrd is super simple, you'd get to the initial page I show on the tutorial in 30seconds...
I thought this was just you doing the service, not a number of people - can use zapier to populate trello or something then people can access the board and claim a site to review :)
Again, thought it was one on one but there is a workaround for sure.
okay! I got some free time, let me play around :)
Congrats man! I can personally vouch for Sia's unuiqe style of feedback 👍
Thank you! I hope Dugglo is doing well. You're probably tired of me saying this but I love the idea.
Great to hear every time ;)
Congrats Sai
Last year I relocated to India from US because of work visa Issues (Thanks Trump).
There is great pleasure in working for yourself. Congrats on your first successful step and wish you good luck.
My dude! We should exchange notes on this relocation thing. I sense a bit of a mindset shift among our fellow country people when it comes to GC chasing ;). Maybe I'm just projecting...like Trump :/
Thanks for your kind words. Are you also looking to work for yourself?
Great job Sai, being so active paid off ;)
I always trying to figure out what could be more useful for this community in terms of websites and I am launching a new service, would be happy to connect to help each other out, you got to get to those 6 figures again haha :)
Also, you need to productize this because right now it's very hard to know exactly how much money they will need to pay and how much feedback their going to get. Big No-no for inbound leads.
Here's my email: pedro@cortes.design
Cheers!
Haha, yes it did :).
Emailing you now.
Hi Sai, that's a great idea! And very helpful!
Apologies if this may seem stupid, just wondering if I missed the name of the website cuz I don't see the link? I'm new here, so :P
Welcome to IH. I'm sure you will a lot of value from your interactions with your fellow indie hackers.
Site = Second Look
Congrats Sai! Rooting for you! :)
Thank you!
