Show IH: WP Word Count, a WordPress Plugin for Writers

Hi everyone,

I find myself with a stable version of my first standalone software product so I thought it would be a good time to share.

WP Word Count (https://linksoftwarellc.com/wp-word-count) is a plugin for WordPress that provides word count statistics for blog posts, pages and custom post types.

There are two versions of the plugin available: Free and Pro. The Pro version comes with expanded statistics and an achievement system for tracking writing progress that the Free version lacks.

Of course, as many of you can relate, I've had very little time to market my product since launch. The only traffic comes from people who install the Free version and follow an in-app advertisement to check out the Pro version. The landing page, which I find adequate at best, converts fairly well although the traffic is minimal so the sample size is small.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a bit about what I've been doing between client work and look for any kind of feedback the folks here are willing to offer.

Hi Brian! You might want to sign out of your account and then sign back in, so your email address will be connected and you'll get notified when people reply to your thread.

I think your pro license is too cheap.

So I've thought about tweaking that. Any suggestions on what would be high enough but not too high to discourage purchase?

    People love discounts.

What you can do is offer a 20% discount if they sign up to your mailing list.

You can then later offer your other WordPress plugins to them.

One of my "to do" items is to offer a discount code to anyone who visits from the wordpress.org plugin directory but adding one for mailing list signups is smart as well. Thank you for the suggestion.
