In a lot of the IH podcasts, I feel like the entrepreneurs in the interview left the company they founded and go back to work somewhere. Why is that? After going to the effort of starting a business and getting good MRR, why would you go back?
I am one of those people (Though I've gone back to freelancing, remote work, never a 9 to 5).
When I initially became an entrepreneur I thought I needed to be in control of everything, but as I improved myself and got better at life, I realized that real joy comes from working with amazing people on exciting projects, whatever capacity that might be in: me as the founder, employee, contractor, whatever.
Also, building a "successful" business gives you a lot of leverage to choose who to work with.
In the case of a company sale, that is often a term of the acquisition, for some period of time to join the new company.
Also running a company is hard work, it's often nice to go back to being an employee and focus on one specific task or role, instead of having to worry about everything!
