Show IH: SaaS Profile - Find software for your need

Hi Indie hackers,

I have been recently working on SaaS Profile - https://saasprofile.com, and launching it today.

I created SaaS Profile to keep track of interesting and useful software for my needs. Indie Hackers is also one of my major sources for my initial saas list for finding interesting software, but it lists only software which is making revenue. I'm planning to add more softwares, needs and tags in the future.

    Hey Arun,
    I quickly skimmed through your website, feedback below:

    • First question that came to my mind was - why SaaS software? I mean, end user seeks to solve his glitch (who would potentially visit your site to find one) - whether a bot or an app or a software
    • Is this focused towards tech or non-tech or both kinds of users? I'd kind of pick a niche area (eg software for soon to be moms) and nail it down to detail with all sorts of software.
    • How does your site make software discovery simpler/ easier/ better than app store, google search and all the other existing means? If you can clearly define that, it would help define feature set for your site.
    • Wonder how you plan to monetize it?

    Oh, btw your medium post at https://medium.com/@saasprofile/launching-saas-profile-a1613535313b says 'Don't check out SaaS Profile.' You may want to fix that.

      Hey geekybiz,

      Thanks for the wonderful feedback, particularly for letting me the know the typo in the blog. I will try to answer you queries in the order you have asked

      • the site roughly covers any software be it free, non-free, open-source, cloud, desktop etc. SaaS just happened to be the name of the site. Hope it clarifies
      • focus is on both non-tech and tech users. Main idea is to just provide a list of all useful softwares for any domain.
      • The discovery/search is a problem in the current version. Maybe in the future, I will refine the site to able to search through the softwares.
      • No idea :) I have to wait and see where it goes.
