Code Signing Certificates for the little guy
Hi All
Thought I would throw out a quick question, since I am sure someone here has dealt with this...
I need to get a code signing certificate for some desktop software I am developing.
Does anyone have any recommendations for Windows code signing certificates for signing desktop executables, specifically for the solo developer?
I do not have a company address, and EV certs are crazy money. I will have a registered company name and business number etc.. (sole trader/contractor).
I assume this must be a common issue for indie/solo developers.. what are your experiences?
Have you found any that are good value, but still reputable with lifetime timestamps?
(ps. I am not referring to App store certificates, this is for executable desktop installers, installed via Group Policy in an enterprise environment.)

Just in case anyone else needs help with this (and I don't like leaving unanswered questions!)....
I got an authenticode cert from Digicert.
You can get a cert registered for your company name, but they go through (a fairly rigorous) validation process for the owner if you are a sole trader - identity docs, notary documents etc..
Cost was $260 usd (3yr).
Had some issues working though the validation, but I was very impressed by the support and excellent communication.
Not cheap, but necessary for enterprise software.
No affiliation, but I would recommend Digicert from my experience.
