Tips for figuring out next steps after selling a company?

I just sold my company and am now trying to figure out what to do next. I am pretty burnt out from the whole experience of the company and am finding it hard to get excited about another idea or the thought of starting something again. Recently I’ve had the “everything has been done already” mentality which is totally detrimental! Yikes.

I’ve been reading tons of books, listening to the IH and many other podcasts and probably most importantly, trying to connect with my community again.

Has anyone else been through this? Any advice for someone who can’t seem to get out of the funk?

  1. 1

I have not been through this personally but have friends who have. Things I've seen work for them include:

    • travel
    • volunteering for a cause they care about
    • learning a new adjacent skill
    • taking a job for a while so they build back up the hunger for doing their own thing

    Hope that helps :)
