Disrupting Corporate Email
Hi guys, i was thinking of the following idea based on my experience.
I run a web design agency, and always a client has to create corporate emails, it has 2 choices, use gsuite or other paid option, (which is way too expensive for many mails) or buying the hosting and use its webmail, which is cheap, but is very difficult to set up and enjoy a good email client. You have to either to use shitty webmail or to integrate into gmail for example, which you have to have already an account, and difficult to set up for simple humans as you have to enter server and port details.
Imagine the "slack" for email, with a price model based on space, and not based on email accounts, which is very expensive.
Super cool web email client (like gmail), good apps, crm features, etc, all for business.
This sounds like my thing :)
I created https://ForwardMX.io to solve a similar issue. However i dont provide a interface but do forwarding directly to your normal inbox.
Many smaller business owners like this approach of a central inbox, and especially indie hackers and other domain hoarders can really benefit from this approach.
PS: To clearify we dont solve the sending thing yet (as you said its quite some work with Google, and requires 2FA to use their SMTP). Which does indeed lock out less technical users.
It feels like you are describing Gmail in a lot of ways, which is very hard to compete with. Even when you ignore the terrible email protocols and spam, when trying to build a client.
There are several Chrome Extensions for Gmail that enable CRM and other features. Maybe it's possible to combine these ideas in an extension?
"Shitty webmail" sounds like something that needs fixing though! I've experienced the same with at least 5 different web hosts, so there is your target group.
hahaha, Yeah, now that you say it like that, what im thinking is basically a CHEAPER GSUITE with a pricing model based on space and not in the amount of accounts ahahah. (and with crm features like mixmax)

I like the idea, especially if you are adding basic crm+ kanban like features.
Problems: the big providers will put your service in spam because competition

My first thought is that there are already so many email services out there (gmail, zoho, outlook, ...). Not all of these are meant for geeks. So how will you be better?
I editted the question, didnt want to make it sound its a service for geeks, actually ,the idea is for non geeks. Me as a "geek" i have to create a "fake" google account to use for each of my corporate emails. Then integrate in each one, my email.
As i have the knowledge to do this, i prefer to do it and save me 30USD a month paying google suite, and enjoying gmail email client for "free".
