Need guidance on selling a product
Hey!! I am a developer working with two of my friends who do the same. We are technically strong, can build things fast and make it a really good product for users. At present we are building a software platform. The problem lies here: We don't have much of business knowledge and connections with people. Hence failing at selling an amazing product which has really good value and helps people. What do we have to do to get better at this??
Get a partner who is a great sales person, marketer, and connector, or learn how to do those things yourself. You've identified the #1 reason that businesses fail: most people start a business because they're excited about an idea, or love doing a certain service, or are great at building a product. Unfortunately that's maybe 20% of what it takes to make a successful business. The other 80% is mostly marketing and sales.
But at least you've identified the problem. That's a great start.
