Magicleap released its dev SDK. Do you think this is a bigger opportunity than app dev?

Any time a new technology changes the landscape, it's a big opportunity. However, it's also a big risk, because you're betting on things that are largely out of your control.

• What if this new technology is a dud? You're betting your success on Magic Leap's success.
• Your building on someone else's platform. Facebook, Twitter, Apple, Microsoft, (and to a lesser extent) Google, and Amazon have all proven how risky it can be to build on someone else's platform. They can end your business in a second by changing some rules, changing their algorithms, competing with you, banning your app etc.
• Typically, visual tech (AR, VR, 3D, video, etc.) is much more difficult and expensive to build, so you end spending a ton of time building and not much time doing the other important parts of any business.

This doesn't mean building for Magic Leap is a bad idea. It's just always good to be aware of the risk factors so you don't get blindsided.

Its Augmented reality (in fact mixed reality). Look up MagicLeap. THey have raised over $2 B and have now come up with an SDK for developers. In the near future, you will do away with your monitors and phone displays. The future is voice and MR. Look at the opportunity we are talking about. Every app that has been written and every website that is out there needs to be redone in some way.
