Random thought, I pretty much always upvote IH product hunt launches
Was thinking today while I checkout Product Hunt daily, I don't often upvote too many products unless they're super compelling.
But if I get to someone's PH page via Indie Hackers, I always give it props and regularly a supportive comment. Feels like the least we can do after getting so much back from this great community
I haven't gone back to PH after joining IH, there's just too much spam there.
I check them all out when I see them but I only upvote if its something I am genuinely interested in or looks like a really solid product.
I feel auto-upvoting encourages low value participation where you see a lot of people here just posting their product "Check it out on PH (wink wink)" in a bunch of places they are minimally involved in. I've done it myself in the past too because it works but I've come to see it as devaluing all the communities involved IMHO.
I still haven't ever submitted anything to PH, partially out of not wanting to be like that!
I forgot about ProductHunt after I joined Indie Hackers.
I love the community here. 💛
I find PH too noisy... i stopped going in years.
