Namecheap Shenanigans

I'm posting this to inform other IH users of Namecheap's misleading and or deceptive practices and hopefully save people from unnecessary hassles in the future. Luckily this experience with Namecheap didn't cost me much at all. It's really about the principle. Namecheap was my go-to since their rates are the best rates that I've come across, but now I'm not so sure I want to be dealing with them anymore.

(1) I had a Namecheap balance of $X.XX.
(2) I wanted to purchase a year's worth of hosting, but one of their agents informed me that I couldn't make partial payments (i.e. use the $X.XX and then pay the remainder on a card).
(3) The agent then instructed me to deposit $XX.XX dollars in CAD.
(4) I set the site's currency to CAD.
(4) I deposited $XX.XX, which was then still processed as USD despite CAD being selected as the currency, which obviously cost me additional expenses from my bank due to currency conversions.
(5) I went to purchase the year's worth of hosting with a sufficient Namecheap balance while no cards were associated with my account.
(6) The website prompted me for my information at checkout, which I assumed was being used as some sort of verification since I had a sufficient Namecheap balance to purchase the hosting.
(7) Namecheap then charged my card.

They did offer to refund the amount that I deposited into my Namecheap balance, in which case I'll get dinged by the bank once again. This was all they offered to remedy the situation.

Ultimately some of this is my fault. I shouldn't have made certain assumptions, despite how reasonable they may have been. I also should've slowed down during the checkout process. I still feel like this doesn't excuse the misleading and or deceptive instructions and practices on Namecheap's part.
