I'll start: long-term email scheduling. The only transactional email service that offers anything close is Mandrill (and on last check they limit it to 2-3 day delay).
Looking to be able to schedule emails for things like "hey, you bought this a month ago, want to help out and leave a review for us?"
Alarm clock drone.
it will whisper in my ear and my wife's ear.
so our baby son is not disturbed.
it will also tell us things like the current time, our next tasks and possible rewards of that day.
discovery of good tutorials - is this still solved ???
A few are:
Hey Ian, I am interested to find out more about what you find particularly frustrating about email. Is it limited to spam intrusions?
your idea - you'd need to factor in when people unsubscribe or email content changes between scheduling and sending. Also, what's the benefit of scheduling ahead, i.e. rather than doing "send X in 30 days to those who signed up today" you do "send X today to those who signed up 30 days ago"?
my idea - parcel tracking from multiple couriers for internal (merchant) use and also to provide customers with possibility to track parcels
That's a good point. Mostly what I'm looking to avoid is having to manage cron jobs/timing on my end. I'd rather offload that task. As long as the API is decent, doing updates to the schedule doesn't seem too cumbersome. Maybe six and one half/dozen in the other type of situation.
Interesting idea. What use case do you see? It sounds more commercial than consumer...
parcel tracking - it is very beneficial for business to have everything in one place but to consumer as well. You can send them email "your order has been dispatched, here is the tracking information" which leads to your website, with page and tracking info fully integrated. you could even embed it in user order/account to provide comprehensive information. the overall benefit is it provides better experience and makes them to come back to your site
