$50 to Beta Test

Hey everyone, we just released our open beta for TrapFi - an easy way for software developers to manage subcontracts.

I'm looking for as much feedback as possible. Interested in testing? I'll pay for your time.

Here's how it'll work:

  1. Comment if you're in and I'll reply with a TrapFi contract invite link

  2. Accept the invite

  3. Add tasks to TrapFi. Ideally, tasks required to complete a project you're currently working on (minimum of 10)

  4. Accept automated repo invites (emailed)

  5. Invite at least one person to the contract with you

  6. Drag tasks to review

  7. Connect with Stripe (so I can pay you)

After you connect Stripe, comment on the first task to let me know, I'll approve all of the tasks and you'll get paid immediately. I'd love to do this 2 or 3 times.

    Sounds pretty complicated. I'll just give you some feedback for free:
    landing page:

    • your landing page loads very slow (it's 6mb large, most of this from team.png). Also remove that loading animation, it blocks rending for too long
    • it should be clear that signup is with github (maybe "Sign up with github"?)
    • there's no way to abort the github signup flow. aka if i'm not ready yet and just exploring i cant get back to your page easily

    app:

    • when i move a task in the example dashboard from progress to review it says "Task updated failed! Check pr."
    • when i click the cog on a contract to edit it, it says "create instead" and i get an email invite (even tho it seems i am editing an existing contract?)
    • I'm not sure what to do with the "network" tab? can i do anything with it?
    • It confuses me that the "profile" tab is at the very top (most important). as if thats something that i should click a lot but then it only has credit card settings. so am i supposed to keep updating those? Should that link bee in that sidebar at all? Usually things that arent updated/accessed a lot can be hidden more.
    • when i click on my profile (top right) i get taken to my github profile but i expected to get to the app's settings or see a menu

    stuff that's good already:

    • the design of both your landing page and your web app is fast
    • your web-app has fast transitions
    • your web-app layout is pretty clear

    I realize that this isn't exactly what you asked for but I don't have real project to test this with right now so it's the best i can do to help.
