Celebrating over 4,000 users with a reflective post on my experiences launching in July 2018

2018 Review, and a look at 2019

I wrote this to reflect on a hard, yet rewarding year where time management and deadlines proved tough. I think many of you will relate!

cool and inspigin story. can you answer me a question: how did you actually manage to gather 4k people BEFORE launching the product? what strategy did you use for that? do you have a recommendation for a book on how to pull something like that off ? Im asking because a lot of our clients struggle with the same problem!

Great question my friend. The most important thing was, as soon as development started, I put up a landing page with a brief introduction to the product and what it will do, and made it very clear that it's not launched yet. I also had a very prominent "Sign Up to be Notified for Early Access" so everyone could know exactly when it came out.

During the entire development process, I also posted relatively steady updates to a blog. I think this had a big impact because it kept everyone in the loop with my struggles, successes and ideas for Budgetwise.

Cool, sounds like a good idea. And was that blog existing and receiving traffic BEFORE the landing page was created - or did you create it from scratch with the landing page and grew it while building the product?
