So I listen to the Indie Hackers podcast on my commute, every successful person there didn't become hit overnight. Almost all of them were in the industry for a very long time before they made it big. They contributed to the community over the years and grew an audience.
Let's us do the same and pay our dues. Don't give up yet! Give it some time.
"It takes a lifetime to become an overnight sensation"
You are right bro. I am personally impressed by two things in our industry.
How much development skill you need in order to get something small done. For example, in order to create simple sign up page that works looks nice , you need to know HTML, CSS, php, and SQL. The more you know the more you can do and each of these languages take some time to learn and gain Experience with. Just go to google homepage. It looks very simple and empty right? Now look at the page's source code. Over thousands of lines.
The second thing I am impressed by is how many Nice ideas I thought I had and how many of them will Not sell.
And another common theme amongst most of them: They built an audience over time, whether that be an email list, Twitter following, YouTube, etc.
Like 10 to 20 years and 5 to 10 failed attempts.
