Advice on making a newsletter premium?

Hi,
I run www.remotejobsclub.com - a free weekly newsletter of remote gigs. Currently, all subscribers get around 30-35 hand-picked remote jobs to their inbox each week.

I've been bouncing with this idea, of making a premium monthly model, where people are charged $3.99/mo, to get hand-curated remote jobs based on their preferences.

Is that a silly idea, since people can find remote jobs on their own without paying?
Thanks so much.

    Ask your subscribers! :)

Add a big, bold "Buy Premium Subscription" button on your newsletter and see if people click on it. Ask them why / why not.

      100% agreed, just try it.

A lot of newsletters are monetized by advertisers. I would say look for companies who are looking to hire remote employees (you already have a list) and send them an email.

PS: This might not work for smaller lists.

People can also get groceries to their home without paying, or install Windows without paying, or wash their car without paying.

If you can make their life easier, faster, or more enjoyable at a good price, people are going to be willing to pay you for it.

What value can you offer me, as a customer? Can you save me time? Money? Offer me exclusive jobs? Compare jobs? Vet employers? Etc.

    Regarding formats... content is content.

I.e. it doesn't matter if the substance is shared via a membership site, Twitter, Facebook Group, etc....

Big point I want to emphasize: it's about the quality.

Being a newsletter for remote gigs, how is this stuff better?

Will I get more intelligently curated opportunities?

Here's the thing about knowledge... It's cheap.

I mean, we can create a scraper to find thousands and thousands of opportunities... so why is the world not perfect yet? I.e. Why haven't supply and demand perfectly been matched yet?

That's because of... getting the right people in front of the right opportunity.

If the newsletter can show me a few actionable opportunities with high likelihood of closing the deal, that'd be great.
