Good site or tool for producing nice embeddable tables?

My company produces valuable data tables. We write our blog on Medium where we want to embed nice tables. Medium seems to suck for embedding tables leaving what seems like only 3 options: GitHub Gist via CSV, Airtable via embedly, an image of a table.

I don't care for the Airtable embed, it's too busy and doesn't utilize space properly which is key when you have a lot of important, yet skinny columns (for example, making the header 2 lines or customizable to shrink down the column title). the CSV route is just too basic for my tastes, you can't call anything out.

Am I missing something or is this a need of others too? If I'm just going to paste in an image, is there a good site or tool to make well formatted, attractive tables, or should I just do it in HTML or excel and screenshot it?

Is it worth creating my own product for clean, compact, embeddable tables via embedly?
