I've watched 3 seasons of it (and will likely rewatch it to take notes). It's as good and informative as described. I learned a phenomenal amount from it and the lessons I learned are all the same observations made here. They also personally made me an extra 50% salary increase as well as helped me avoid a $250,000 law suit.
Other shows you should consume every episode of and take notes are undercover boss, shark tank, hotel hell/kitchen nightmares. That has been my reality TV MBA and it has taught me lessons that basically most people are fucking it up somewhere, it's possible for you to have higher quality ideas about what to do than the people currently running the show and that produces a major arbitrage which creates significant opportunity for you.
What's the premise of the show?
He turns around failing small businesses by investing in them and making some management changes and tries to get them profitabile again. It works sometimes but the people are always the variable. Whenever people listen to him with an open mind and implement what he says things improve. Whenever the people are stubborn pricks that think they know better nothing changes and they eventually completely wreck their business.
