Hi Indie Hackers,
we have recently relaunched our B2B reverse eAuction platform here:
How is your feedback on this?
Is the message clear? Is the UI clean?
And how is your experience regarding sales for a B2B SaaS, cold-email vs cold-calls?
Which one works better?
At least I can say, Google Ads doesn't work. :)
Thanks for your help,
David
congrats on the relaunch.
some feedback: I read the front page and didnt understand how I use it (do I upload my latest quotes from my existing suppliers to your website and see who bids or do I invite my other suppliers into my page on your website for them to see and bid?)
then I went to the "Product" page and there is only 1 line of text that didnt explain anything.
Pricing: 'Purchase a license to host an auction' what does that even mean? Why cant I just host an auction and pay you for the number of auctions I hosted. Why is there another added step called 'purchase a licence'. I think license is something people did for software that you install on your PC. There is no licenses in most of the SaaS field.
BTW, what was your experience with Google Ads? have you tried different keywords? Why didnt it work?
Thanks for your comment!
Regarding Google Ads, we tried different versions of "eauction", which confuses a lot of visitors with services like ebay. Then we tried "e-procurement" and things like "generate savings" etc. without notable results. So we are still working this.
Front page:
Interesting to hear what you say. In our view we made the message and the process really clear. But that's why it's valuable input that you provide to us.
You simply need to enter the existing bids into our form, then invite the suppliers to take part. They then receive a link to join and reverse bidding starts. Everything takes place on our website of course.
Product:
The first line, that you describe was only on the top. In the sections below we show some of the features.
Pricing:
eAuctions are kind of pre-paid events. But maybe you are right and the word 'license' is somehow outdated.
Again, thanks for the feedback!
Any chance to get pricing in terms of % of the total deal?
Can I show my older auctions to newly invited suppliers?
We reorder phone parts from china every week, and sometimes I do entertain the idea of being able to show off my purchase orders to other suppliers in china just to prove them that I do regularly buy stuff and show them what products and what quantities I regularly order.
Its just each 27kg box by DHL fits around 3000 dollars worth of phone parts and I would not be willing to pay 500 euros to hold this auction but I would pay 5 euros for each auction since I will be holding once almost every week.
Is that something you would consider or you guys target only high end businesses making million dollar purchases?
Basically we target deal volumes higher than 25k. This is the rule to qualify a client for our solution. The higher the volume, the higher the clients' ROI.
We did not implement a %-fee. I know this is something the big guys are doing, like SAP Ariba. We know clients who used Ariba before and they paid insane amounts for one eAuction, just because their volume was very high. In our point of view the fee should be reasonable, but with our fixed price, we are able to give most of the savings to the client. Customers first. :)
In your case, if you are buying stuff with 3k volume, you are not an ideal customer for the tool, unfortunately. But maybe if you grow, it might be an option for you.
The sharing capability, that you asked for, is currently not available. As an eAuction contains sensitive information of multiple companies, we have not implemented a sharing yet.
Anyway, great input from you, thanks!
I think it's mostly pretty good, just needs more info on how it works and why it's better.

smooth, I like it :)
