A big thank you to Indie Hakers

Hi folks!

6 months ago we launched Burner Mail. Our first launch was, from our point of view, a big flop. Being familiar with Indie Hackers we asked the community for feedback. The response and feedback that we received was beyond our expectations. We took every single little comment and insight, applied it to our product and relaunched the next day. The response was amazing. We had 1700+ signups that week and 750 votes votes on Product Hunt. We have been featured on numerous tech blogs including Lifehacker, without doing any outreach. Three months later we grew our user base 600%, launched a big new feature (Mailbox), a Premium package and a bunch of other smaller features. Most of our users feedback is positive and we have organic growth. We are profitable (ish): $150 in MRR and over 50 paying users and we are an open startup.

The lesson learned here is that you shouldn’t try to keep your product/service a secret and ship alone. Constantly ask for feedback, let people help you even if criticism sucks at first.

We’d like to say a big thank you to the Indie Hackers community, especially to the people who gave us feedback! 🙌 It helped us a lot and if we can ever return the favour, we definitely will!

This is what I feel makes IH stand out from the other communities. The people here are amazing. There's no flaming or bad behavior. It's constructive criticism all the way

Really happy to hear that things worked out for you guys :D

I completely agree and we try to be more like that ourselves whenever we are hanging out here

The price feels too low. Make it upto $5-$10.

    Hey congratulations!

Can you do a little recap of the differences between the first and the second launch?
What changes have you made, what did you do differently?

      Thank you!

I plan to write more in depth about our launches but I wrote a small piece on our first launch mistakes.

review quotes on the website are too small, It's unreadable and can't really trust if It's real review or not. It would be awesome with reviewer's name and face on it!
