Help? Looking to create a web app that can handle quotes, booking, and payment

Hi guys, I'm relatively new here and found this community through a good friend. I'm definitely not as tech-inclined as most of you, so I thought I could reach out for some guidance. I'm entering a business competition at my college, and my idea involves building a web app that can handle quotes, booking, and payment. I'd like to include a realistic assessment of how much it would cost to build and how long it would take to get that up and running in my submission, but am not sure where to begin. Any and all help is appreciated!

If you can't envision deeply what you need, take a look at the ready solutions as examples to realize where to start. As folks here have already mentioned, WordPress is the most affordable solution now to get started, have a look at the most used plugins like MotoPress Hotel Booking and sketch out your ideas based on the plugin. Imagine you asked:
"Hey guys, looking to build a house, how much will it cost?"

That question doesn't provide:
- how big the house is
- where the house is
- the types of materials
- how many people will be living in this house
- when you need the house by
- what will the house look like
It's kind of a similar question. You can do it numerous different ways, with so many various technologies.

Steps I'd take to get this up and running:
1. Understand what you're trying to accomplish and think about how to do this in a simplest way possible.
2. Create to make mocks of screens you'd like to build, understanding how the interactions will work.
3. Hand the prototypes off to someone and have them build it, or learn yourself at https://www.freecodecamp.org/
I'm sure i'm missing steps, but this should get you started.

  Thanks for taking the time to respond! I really appreciate it. The music analogy was pretty apt haha. I'm actively looking for a technical co-founder at my college, but I think making screen mocks, like @MonolithBurger said is a good way to get started. I've tried to learn how to code, but haven't been consistent
