Solo Founder Days Off? How do you manage?

Hi!

Wanted to ask, if you are a solo founder and you want/have to take a few days off, how do you manage client emails, bug fixes and all other communications? Im thinking about people who are running SaaS. Maybe someone could share some knowledge around this :)

Thanks!

I sometimes turn on my out of office to say I'm traveling. I'm also a location independent, so I've been traveling a fair bit lately. I use a combo of the out of office and scheduling. If it's 1 day then I build in an hour or two the next day to deal with emails.

If it's more than 1 day then I will set an hour aside at the end of the day to check emails. Add it on the calendar and then go off and do what I want and check the emails during the scheduled time.

But the more I've done it the more I find that it's ok not to reply right away even 24 / 48 hours is ok.

With the Out of office your not around or your travelling helps so they know.

I've now got a habit of only checking the internet / emails / indiehackers in the afternoon where ever I happen to be, mornings are for work afternoons are for emails and contact.

My advice is don't worry about it, turn on the out of office and schedule some time to check emails. If your like me you can't just ignore it so knowing I can check it later helps.

Days off are the most important part of running a business as a team or as a solo founder.

If you don't take time out you just burn out and fade away.
