Book Indie Office Hours (Get help with projects)
Get help with projects at no cost via Indie Office Hours. Here's a list of things you may want feedback on:
- People (building and managing the right team)
- Process (operating as a well-oiled machine)
- Profit (growth, budgeting, etc)
- Technology (bugs, specifications, design etc)
I'm not a guru or anything in any of these so our conversation will be hacker to hacker. I simply love helping people with projects - whether it's providing honest feedback or making introductions to potential customers.
My startup, TrapFi, recently joined a tech accelerator and one amazing feature is office hours. I want to extend a similar experience to the IH community with Indie Office Hours.

This is a great idea. I have seen similar idea before Out-of-office hours. It was great concept where you can talk with different experts from sillicon valley for half hours. You should start something like this so more indie hackers can help each other.

You can build it, but it’s a lot of work—and a surprisingly prickly problem to solve. Alternatively, you could just use https://www.officehours.io, which is a reasonably complete solution.

@karj Looks awesome! I think the community can certainly benefit from the experts at OfficeHours.io, my logic around Indie Office Hours was more focused on the Hackers who are engaged here everyday being able to help each other with projects. Definitely not reinventing the wheel, just Indie Hackers + Google Hangout.

We’ve been working on it for way too long—almost three years. The product works decently, but could be (much) better.
I’m happy with it as a side-project, as it’s helped a number of people out. As a business, though, I don’t think it’s viable. We’ll continue to maintain it, but I don’t expect it to ever cover costs. (Many have tried this same idea, and Clarity.fm is the only one that’s come close to success.)
I’d happily participate in an IH interview, but I’d rather hold off until we’ve built something more successful. Our other project: https://www.campnab.com seems closer to this, but we still have a long way to go with that.

Hey @RyanB, we're announcing it publicly later this month. It's been incredible so far, best advice and community we could ask for.
Just curious but would this be strictly text or could there be audio or video components (i.e. Skype or Zoom)?
Hey @captconstruct, planning to use Google Hangouts initially but open to suggestions for sure. Zoom could be awesome for recording some of the office hour sessions and sharing with the community.
We use Zoom for recording screen shares with our clients (i.e. walkthroughs for using the backend of their websites and whatnot). I like it a lot.
This is an excellent idea. I would however add a github like component to have more context before the call.
A way to bootstrap that would be embedding calendly links in GitHub PRs
