After 15 years in commercial development, I moved into an architect role in the last four years. I see this as the logical next step: AI writes code remarkably well, but it cannot yet properly manage architecture. Therefore, the near-term future lies in creating agent-based development departments, providing them with architectural blueprints, overseeing their output, and ensuring they remain compliant with the intended design — while I focus on the bigger picture.
