Prior to founding Maverick Retirement, I was the CTO for a startup that was almost entirely bootstrapped and that eventually exited for a sizable sum.

In between that company and Maverick, I cofounded a VC backed startup and also consulted for a number of VC startups and in general did not like the experience because the primary audience for our efforts seemed to be VCs, not customers.

I'm on Indie Hackers because the values espoused here match my own in that they are extremely customer focused and value value real-world profitability over startup-world hype.
