1 marketing habit that brought me clients (even when my design wasn’t good)

From 2016 to 2019, I wasn’t a strong designer.
Most of my work looked average. And I knew it.

But I shared it anyway.

Every day, I posted whatever I designed. No polishing. No fear.
People commented. Some were negetive, some were inspirational.
I read everything and improved little by little.

That habit changed my career.
Not a perfect portfolio.
Not a big audience.
Just showing what I was learning openly.

Alhamdulillah, that simple habit opened every door for me.
And it’s the same habit that helped me build Panze - UX Design Studio.

If you’re starting out, start sharing.
Not when you’re “ready.”
Start with what you have.

This is so real. Showing your work daily builds skills, confidence and opportunities faster than waiting to be “ready.

Exactly, people are waiting for your content, until they saw it you are nothing 😉

That’s a powerful insight — visibility and consistency often beat “perfect work” when you’re still building reputation. For a lot of freelancers, one habit that has worked well is daily or weekly niche engagement rather than broad posting — for example, sharing a small before/after breakdown or a quick micro-case in niche communities where your ideal clients actually hang out. Over time, that builds trust and recall without needing perfect portfolio pieces upfront.

For others here: what’s one specific marketing habit (weekly post, quick case snippet, follow-up ritual, niche group engagement) that has actually brought clients in the door even when your work wasn’t “top tier yet”?

love this. people underestimate how far consistency and public learning can take you. most clients don’t hire the best designer they hire the one they’ve seen grow, ship, and show up. sharing your work daily builds trust way before your portfolio does. great reminder.
