Technical co-founder looking for another technical co-founder

I am a full stack web dev, looking for a mobile dev to co-found an app with me.

Here's the idea: AI friend targeted toward children. It would be very similar to ChatGPT voice feature, but with fun visuals and sounds. The characters would probably be animals, because kids love animals.

Kids are impressionable, and they have no qualms about being friends with an AI. You just have to frame it as "Do you want a friend inside your IPad?" and they will eat it up.

(I was worried about children's poor pronunciation skills, but I tried Whisper on some kids with bad pronunciation and it worked well)

Find me on twitter or email me. Use your brain to guess my email address, it's pretty obvious

don't do that to children, not in the state of AI at the moment

it would be like coco melon or bluey, but more interactive and enriching

Hey Spencer, Although Im all about tech with you on this, as a person who has developed casual mobile games from target age groups 6 to 60 for iOS and Android, I would like to say, the AI Models needed for this are going to be Fixed/Static, ie, they wont learn each time the ML model is interacted with, if you are planning to use a wrapper AI startup, or are you planning to train your own datasets?

Secondly, I would suggest you are better off developing a fun and interactive game, ie, gamifying it, rather than calling it an app. This way it will looks more appealing but also hopefully you have more ideas in your bucket.

I would have loved to join you on your quest but I've recently stopped the technical side of projects and taking a break myself.

    All the best.

I think I have heard of this idea before. I am new here btw, and it's heartwarming to see the consciousness of the group. Thank you for that and carry on.

I'm in .. but for adults.

What problem is it solving? Children being lonely/not having friends? Are you sure more tech is the right solution for that?

ChatGPT (or any other LLM) are static models, they cannot learn from interaction with children, kids get bored quickly.

Your app has to appeal to parents because they are the decision makers. I want my kid to have real friends not AI.

    1. 2

parents say they want to give their child to have good friends, good educations, etc, but that's the STATED preference, not their REVEALED preference. what parents really want is to give their kid an ipad and not be bothered by the kid. they would never admit that though

I aim for it to be a more enriching alternative to kid shows and youtube channels
