Created an App for People Who Hate Planning Vacations!

Hi Indie Hackers!

You know the drill, I'm throwing my hat in the ring for your feedback - so let me know your thoughts!

Building Trameter has been our passion project for the past 4 years, and this is our second public release. 2 days ago, we launched Trameter on the App Store for those in the US, and I'm excited to share it with my Indie Hacker community because I believe you're exactly the type of user we're building Trameter for - tech-savvy users who love to travel and value their time.

The Pitch

Imagine planning a whole vacation in just a few seconds - Yea, that's Trameter! A mobile app that takes the stress out of travel planning. You simply tell it where you want to go, when you want to go, and how much you want to spend. In return, it gives you 9 personalized vacation options – a mix of flights and hotels, all ready to book in seconds.

See for Yourself!

The Problem We're Solving

Think about it: people love to explore. But planning a trip can be a nightmare. You're juggling a million tabs, spending hours comparing prices, and still feeling unsure about your choices.

Most people either book generic packages, spend countless hours researching or resort to traditional methods like travel agents. But, all these options are less than ideal - Generic packages lack personalization, and DIY planning is time-consuming and stressful; travel agents often prove expensive; and most travel apps will either overwhelm you with 1001 results or restrict you by promoting specific (read as sponsored) options rather than providing unbiased choices.

How Trameter Flips The Script

Trameter cuts through the noise, saving you from spending 15+ hours across 38+ websites. Instead, you get personalized options in seconds. It's like having a travel expert in your pocket for FREE.

  1. Enter your Preferences: Where do you want to go? When are your ideal travel dates? What's your budget like? Trameter will work with your budget and preferences.

  2. Relax and Let Trameter Do the Work: No more endless searches! Trameter's smart algorithm will scour the web, finding the perfect flights and hotels that fit your selected preferences.

  3. Explore only 9 Personalized Vacation Packages: In seconds, you'll receive 9 curated vacation options – 3 within your budget, 3 below, and 3 above – giving you a range to explore. No more getting lost in a sea of options.

  4. Book in 1 Click Within the App: Finalize your travel plans with just one click, all without leaving the app or getting redirected to another platform. (Seriously, that sucks!)

Conclusion
We're a small team of passionate travelers ourselves who've poured our hearts into building this app. We've been in your shoes, frustrated with the planning process with travel and are committed to creating a product that truly enhances the travel experience for you. I'm actively seeking user feedback to refine what we've built and would love to hear from everyone, regardless of the type of feedback. I'm here for it all! 😊

Try Trameter and let me know what you think! Also, let me know if you have questions - I'll be in the comments.

Congrats on the launch — sounds like huge time-saver for vacation planning! 🎉
My project is also travel-focused: requesting real-time live video from spots to avoid bad hotel surprises (it's my pain). However it's hard for me to get users. How are you getting your first 100 users ? It's really harf for me - i am just experienced it-engineer but not experienced in marketing(

No code platfroms like Bubble, Fuzen can be used to develop these apps easily.

Hey Mayan! Thanks for the heads up. With the complexity of our algorithm though and the need for a seamless user experience, we needed to build a custom solution.

Can you share why people use this instead of contacting any tour and travel agency that can arrange them everything.

    1. 1

Hi! Thanks for asking. People use Trameter because it’s quick, easy, and unbiased. Unlike agencies that might push specific deals, Trameter’s algorithm gives you real-time, personalized choices in seconds. Plus, it saves you from the endless back-and-forth of emails or calls. And the best part - It's FREE to use!

  12. 1

Wow, that's solid. So I have excitement and questions running through my mind lol...

First, congrats on your launch. Now the question: how does this really work? I am a big planner and I know what it takes to go through planning a trip - I sometimes like it, but most times it just takes too long. What's the hidden sauce here and how does it compare against human planning?

    1. 1

Thanks a lot! I totally get where you're coming from. Planning can be fun, but it can also be a time-consuming chore. And for the "hidden sauce" behind Trameter, what we’ve is a smart algorithm that does all the heavy lifting for you instead.

Here's what happens when you input your preferences (destination, dates, budget) on Trameter, the algorithm scours the web, comparing prices and options. It also takes into account things like flight times, layovers, hotel ratings, and proximity to the city centre/attractions to make sure you get the very best options.

Compared to human planning, Trameter saves you hours and provides you with unbiased, real-time results only - in literally seconds. Have you tried it out yet? Let me know what you think!

  13. 1

Sounds like a great travel resource. But I'd like to know the criteria your app uses to categorize the 9 personalized vacation packages.

    1. 1

Great question Jingsu! So, each of those 9 package includes a mix of flights and hotels that fit the preferences you entered originally. But beyond that, Trameter’s smart algorithm looks at things like flight times, layovers, hotel ratings, and proximity to the city centre/attractions to make sure you get the best options. This way, you get the very top 9 packages tailored to your preferences and budget.
