[Wanted] Feedback / Help needed

I'm co-founder of a startup. I do not want to anticipate too much, as this may distort the impression somewhat. Especially in Germany we are a bit better known. We are also making slow progress in the EU. Not the mega boost, but it's making a little headway.

But everything except the EU is somehow a black box. For many people it is not recognizable what we do or why (at least we've gotten this feedback a lot already). The whole thing looks more like a cultural problem maybe (?). 🤷‍♂️

@Petervu gave me the advice, I should try my luck here.
Since we have several landing pages, because of several tools and products, I start with a product which is also helpful for indie hackers.

https://www.namerobot.com/toolbox

Questions I have:

  • What's missing?
  • What confuses?
  • Can you find out what the product does?
    • if not, can you explain what is strange?

Thanks to everyone who helps. 🙏

Let's start with the absolute basics here:

    • Your landingpage looks crowded. Font sizes are tiny(!). It feels like you tried to "design" it like a cool tool, but lack the design basics to make it actually look good. Maybe start to increase font sizes by 2x, white spaces by 3x and making the main CTA button 2x larger (paddings and font)
    • Your feature section looks broken. It's not. I know. But try to give your main images some sort of dropshadow or hover-effect. If you have the ressources maybe do some short wizard-like animations.
    • It's unclear what the product does (at least for me). Do you generate names? By dictionary? By user input ideas? How does that work? What languages are supported? Then you talk about managing ideas, I am at a loss at what that does differently than my good old Google Keep, Notes taking app or simply a spreadsheet (Google or Excel).
    • It's a tiny bit personal preference, but you can really feel the writing was not done by a native. If you don't have access to british or american english writers, I can highly suggest you try out Grammarly. Not only does it catch grammar and punctuation errors, it will help you write easier to understand and simpler/catchier sentences. For example this: "Then let's dive into the Toolbox. Most tools are free to use. They are all fun and inspiration is guaranteed. Get great ideas for names and then check them out." This should - as a CTA byliner - read more like this: "Try Toolbox for free. We promise it will be fun and inspirational. Generate great naming ideas. Easily." Since you mentioned you are in Europe, I am having a hard time trusting you in GUARANTEEING me that i will have fun and it will be inspirational. If not, do I get my money back? ;)
    • Why is there a link to the old/archived product? Is that one still better than the new one?
    • Although I like pricing tables, yours is hard to comprehend. How many tools do I get access to? Which ones are not included in the free option? What is a special tool? Why are there ads in the free version? I can just block them, right? The free account has multi-user accounts disabled? Why are there multi-user accounts? etc.

To not make my post too long, you can see I am having a hard time comprehending what you do for me as a user. For a landingpage I would look for the following 2-3 key takeaways:

    1. What do you do? In a simple sentence, something I can understand and can think about "value".
    2. Why should I use your tool? What is the key Unique Selling Proposition you give me?
    3. Let me try or see the product, before I have to register. You are selling my data through ads, so there is no trust in giving you my credentials before even trying. It's like trying to sell a car, but you ain't allowed to touch or sit or testdrive the car before purchase.

Came out longer than expected. Sorry about that.

Whew. That was a lot. Thanks for your time. 🙏
      This will definitely help.

      Because of:

Why is there a link to the old/archived product?

We have old customers and there are subscriptions. These customers have the right to use the old stuff.

Thank you. I'll take care of it. 👍

I feel that the fact I have to click "try it out" and - what is worse - register (!!!) to do something as simple as generating a name for something, make me suspicious.

Why there is no name creating functionality demo on the landing? In what way your name will be better than crappy name I have came up with? Will it convert better to my business? Will it generate more traffic on my domain?

Without these answers, I feel there is not much here.

Or is there something I am missing?

First of all, thank you for your time. We're already working on the demos. 😊
