Dealing with Rejection

I just got rejected today. I'm in the middle of building a Google Sheets Add-on Course. Literally walking through the process of taking some Apps Script code and turning it into a published Add-on on the Google Workspace Marketplace.

and I got rejected.

Well the add-on got rejected.

Email subject line includes "Rejected" in it.

rejected

this sucks.

But I've been here before.

and I've overcome.

And this is so stupid.

In fact I knew this would happen. Every single time I submitted a marketplace listing for a Google Sheet add-on there's one thing I got rejected for. At least one. And every time it's just changing an image that I uploaded wrong, or editing some text. Adding a TM trademark mark, or something silly.

This time it was that my detailed description was too short. That's it.

If you have a fragile ego, you're not gonna make it through.

It seems scary to get an email saying "rejected"

I've been through years and years of getting my twice annual YC Rejection Email!

I've been through this Add-on process now 5 times. This is my 6th time.

In reality this is my 7th time.

I tried, the first time, to make an add-on I didn't care about and get through the process. I stopped when I got stopped. And I never made it through. I had no purpose. I didn't need the add-on to exist.

But the 2nd time I tried, I needed this add-on to exist.

And today, the 7th time I'm trying, I really need this add-on to exist or I won't have a course.

I'll literally throw out the entire course, all 27 videos I've made so far, and call it quits on this course.

Every minute of the 129 minutes I've recorded so far will be for nothing.

But that rejection email, I read it, and responded, and fixed it.

And resubmitted.

::Fingers Crossed::

Wish me luck

If this goes through it'll be the 6th published Google Sheet Add-on under the Better Sheets banner.
