With Your Habit, we are experimenting a lot, and it's really fun things to do in business. Recently we have crossed the 20k downloads goal, with ups and downs in DAU/MAU. The question for most of us I believe is the same: how to increase acquisition, but keep low costs and have a good retention/conversion?
During the experiments and endless talks with other entrepreneurs we have realised that we need to spend our limited time on two main things for now:
Value capturing is the next challenge. We already have some ideas that I will share in the next posts. Let's start from a Viral effect:
So, it's TikTok time. Yes, not being a real big fan of it, but we need to be agile and find a channels of acquisition with a new audience. And TikTok is amazing in tooling for producing pretty good content without top-notch equipment. Noise reduction, filters, music editor, and you have pretty good quality content, in a matter of 30-60 minutes.
Discord. I have never used it before, but we took a risk and create a really simple small community with a Discord. And it's great. Even though we have less than 10 users in Discord, we have direct communication with early adopters and enthusiasts. Already got some great advice.
Dynamic links from Firebase. Since we are using Firebase as our backend solution, I found that tool super useful and pretty easy to set up. The concept is pretty simple: you send the link, and it's open the App on a certain page, or the App Store/Play store depending on the platform. And it's should be something interesting to share, so:
We introduced challenges. Now users can create a challenge and invite a friend in one click. Along with public challenges that already suggesting set of habits that can help user's straight ahead
Science-based articles inside the app. We are decided to mix articles with list of actions to do, so it's easy to start acting. it's improved the engagement time and should pay back in long-term when Google's search engine will pick it from our web-page.
To conclude, it was a pretty hard time refactoring, re-designing (I took a Google UI/UX course), adding analytics, and starting the TikTok channel and Discord. Refactored code/UI base gave us much more agility for testing and adding new features. The TikTok/Discord gave us a feedback of how we present our product and what feature to build next. Along with a properly integrated analytics, it's a game changer of making decision.
Let's see how it play out, but I think we really close to finding a product/market fit.
Best,
Alex
