As an agency founder or freelancer, focusing on a product takes a lot of effort. Hourly services pay the bills easier than a brand-new product.
After years of starting and never launching products, this year with the AI hype, I began to play with OpenAI API and ended up making and launching a product.
I have no idea about marketing. I just posted the link in 3 subreddits, and one guy DM me with some feedback and API requirements. He was happy with how fast I implemented his feedback, so he became a customer.
He got the 49usd per month subscription. The highest plan I had, and now I’m wondering if the price is too low.
I want to share this to motivate people to launch their products. The impostor syndrome is always there as a developer, but so many crapy products are making money. Sure, we can do better.
