A few months ago, I started building CherishVow — AI-generated wedding portraits for everyday couples. It just went live, and I wanted to share the journey so far, because it's my first product ever.

The why

Professional wedding portraits are beautiful, but expensive, time-consuming, and out of reach for a lot of couples. Studio sessions, scheduling, photographers... it adds up fast. I kept thinking: this is exactly the kind of experience AI should be able to recreate — digitally, affordably, for anyone.

The catch: I don't code

This is my first attempt at building anything, and I have no coding background. Everything was new and challenging — and honestly, most of it was overwhelming at first.

But AI changed what's possible for someone like me. I treated AI as my engineering partner: I asked, I broke things, I iterated, I learned. The hardest part was a lengthy research process into the generation pipeline — especially face consistency, which is the make-or-break problem for AI portraits. If the portraits don't actually look like you, nothing else matters. So that's where most of my time went, and it's now the core of what we do: studio-quality wedding portraits with consistent faces, no prompt writing or design skills required.

What I learned so far

• "I can't code" is no longer a wall — it's a slower road, but AI can walk it with you

• Researching the generation pipeline took far longer than expected, but skipping that step is why most AI portrait tools produce inconsistent faces

• Building the product was only half the battle (maybe less)

Here's where I need you 🙏

Building was hard. But now I'm facing the next mountain — marketing and attracting my first users — and I genuinely don't know where to start as a first-time founder.

I'd love advice on:

1. First users — where would you go to find couples planning weddings who'd try this?

2. Channels — with no audience and no budget yet, what worked for your first 100 users?

3. The landing page — if you have 2 minutes, take a look and tell me what's unclear or unconvincing. Honest feedback welcome, even the harsh kind.
